Free Eye Camp was organized by Y.P.Mahindru Niramya Eye Bank
The Free Eye Camp was organized by Y.P.Mahindru Niramya Eye Bank and Gurgaon Industrial Association It was also covered by reputed English Daily Hindustan Times. Noble initiative of people pledging their eyes were picked up by the newspaper.

Ashok Mahindru - Vedic Kanya School
Amongst many other activities Ashok Mahindru is also involved with Vedic Kanya High School. It was started by his father, Late Mr. Y. P. Mahindru who migrated from Lahore (erstwhile ashok mahindru advance group Pakistan) in 1947 and finally settled in Gurgaon in 1950. He was Founder member of Vedic Kanya High School in Gurgaon, in 1959. Presently 825 students are enrolled with more than half of them availing free education, books & uniform.

Mr. Ashok Mahindru leads these initiatives under Mahindru Charitable Trust which is funded by the members of Mahindru family and provides financial support to various NGO in eye care. The trust is decided to enlarge the footprint of awareness campaigns for donation of eyes.
